A new year has arrived and we are very busy here at Wild Rose Paso Fino. We have three horses that will be put under saddle this year. Zarita and Joyero will be two in February and we are introducing them to their tack. Bella is not far behind and we are working with her as well. Joyero was very curious about his saddle and he accepted it with no problems. He even accepted our standing on steps at his side and putting minimal pressure on the stirrups.
Zarita and Bella have accepted girth pressure from a bareback pad with no trouble at all.
Things are moving right along. The next few months will be very busy, I will send Joyero and
Zarita to a professional trainer in late May or June and Bella will follow in September. I look forward to riding these babies, all exibit a fine gait at hand.

Both Ciera and Calida are moving right along. I plan on sending Ciera back to her trainer in
February for finishing work and she will begin her show career (under saddle) in March. I am very excited. I plan on riding Ciera at her first organized trail ride at Heart of Dixie Trail Ride in
mid-February. This will be her first experience with such a large number of horses. I know she will be just fine based on her acceptance of new experinces in the past. Then off to the trainer.

If you would like to own a Paso Fino or would like to acquire another, these fillies and colt are very good prospects. Feel free to call anytime and we will set up an appointment for you. We love to show off our horses!

I picked up Calida today. She has been with a trainer for 2 1/2 months and I am very happy with her. I will begin to work with her on Sunday, I wish rain was not in the forecast for tomorrow.

The cold weather over the last few weeks has had everything on hold, I tried to let Calyspo out for a run and he stood in the stall door and seemed to say "No Thank You". I am so glad that the cold snap has ended. The horses all look funny with such a heavy winter coat. We are not used to such furry horses here in Alabama.

Training Progress

Things are looking good with our young horses. Calida is with a paso trainer and she reports that Calida is a good show prospect, we knew she was special. Ciera continues to amaze me with her trust, she handles new situations vcry well. We are working with Hernando again, and he has matured greatly over the last few months. Life is good.

Fall 2009

The weather is beautiful and we are enjoying the trails at Wild Rose Paso Fino. Ciera, the first offspring of our stallion, has been under saddle since May and is proving to be a wonderful trail
horse. She handles water, mud, wildlife, and other trail obstacles very well.

Friends and I recently spent the weekend at Heart of Dixie Trail Ride and Ciera handled the crowd very well. I am very happy with her progress.

Spring & Summer 2009

We have had an exciting spring and summer at Wild Rose Paso Fino! On March 21, our mares decided to present us with their foals. Joya has a beautiful filly, Marvella Rosa Salvaje, sired by MarcaPasos. Espiga has a handsome colt sired by our stallion, Calyspo El Classiso. Calyspo is the son of El Classico de Plebeyo. Both are very beautiful and exibit a natural gait.

On another note, Ciera Rosa Salvaje, the first filly from our stallion is now under saddle! After only 2 1/2 months of professional training, she is back at the farm and is doing great! She exhibits show qualities and is very composed on the trails. Look for her in the show ring during the 2010 show year.
